Chelsea are under pressure to drop their asking price for Arsenal target Kai Havertz after being informed he has no intention of signing a new contract, sources have told ESPN.

Arsenal are interested in pursuing a move for Havertz but have so far proved reluctant to meet their London rivals' £70 million valuation of the 24-year-old.

Sources have told ESPN that Havertz is open to joining Arsenal and the club do not view his existing wage at Chelsea -- thought to be around £220,000 per week -- as prohibitive to a transfer.

They have had one offer rejected so far but are expected to return with an improved bid.
