Chelsea are increasing their efforts to tie Mason Mount down to a longer and improved contract as Liverpool consider an approach for the midfielder this summer, according to The Guardian's Jacob Steinberg.

The Englishman's current deal expires at the end of next season, and Chelsea - the club he's represented since the age of 6 - are yet to meet his wage demands. He's apparently one of the Blues' lower earners with a pay packet worth £75,000 per week.
